Microblading Alternative: Brow Lamination
While we do a lot of permanent makeup services, we specialize in eyebrows. This includes microblading and our Signature Ombre, but also waxes, sculpts, tints, and laminations.
Laminations are a great method to make more sparse brows look fuller without the need for permanent brows!
There are bare patches in the client's brows in her before picture. She has a small scar on the right hand side that prevents hairs from growing there. With a lamination, those bare spots are covered and she has full fluffy brows.
She has the hair needed for full brows, it's just growing in the wrong direction! A lamination fixes that problem.
What is eyebrow lamination?
Eyebrow laminations are becoming more and more popular, and we're happy to see it! We recommend starting out with a lamination to younger people who are worried about patchiness. Oftentimes, young people have the hair needed for full brows and it just needs a little help getting into place.
The lamination perms the hairs into a more defined shape. A brow specialist will carefully shape and trim the hairs into neater, fuller eyebrows.
After a lamination, brows will continue looking full for 2-3 months with proper care.
Brow laminations can help resolve more issues than just bare patches. Some people have very unruly or overgrown eyebrows, and laminations are a great choice for them (alongside a brow sculpt, of course!) to help tame the brows. When the hairs are straightened, they're much easier to brush into a desirable shape after a lamination.
Uneven eyebrows are helped with a lamination as well. Because the hairs are combed and trimmed into a nice shape, a brow artist has more control of the end result and can tailor the brows to make them more even. People often have different growth patterns between their brows, and their shape benefits from straightening the brow hairs.
Laminations are also incredibly helpful for people who are trying to grow out eyebrows after over-waxing or plucking. Sometimes the growing stage can be a little awkward, and laminations help to disguise small and uneven regrowth. Regular laminations can then prevent even more over-waxing or plucking.
After a lamination, there a few products that we recommend to get the best results. A strong hold brow gel will tame any unruliness and keep the brows nice and neat after a lamination. For those with sparse brows who are looking to promote more growth, a nourishing brow oil can be used daily as aftercare. Oils will cause tints to fade faster, so skip the oil if you've had a brow tint!
Not sure if a lamination would be the best fit for you? If you book an appointment, we can always help you go through your options and choose what's best for your brows.
