About Face Mapping for Filler
We do not recommend filler in most cases. We are fond of Botox for its non-permanent properties, but most fillers don't dissolve as quickly and are known to migrate. We began offering our Ultrasound Face-Mapping service due to an abundance of people who regret their filler.
For most anti-aging needs, we recommend a medical-grade skincare regimen.
We will provide you with the locations of your filler, along with size markers . Once we've completed our appointment, we will send you a picture of your face with the filler outlined that you can take to any injector.
We may recommend going to specific injectors that we trust and have worked with previously.
Our face mapping starts at $150, but total cost will depend on how large of an area you are looking to examine. Those who have filler in a small area of the face will have a lower cost than those requiring a full face map.
Technically, we do not have an injector on staff. We have injectors that we work with very closely and recommend, but we don't have them on our staff. We pride ourselves on being experts of the things that we offer, which means that our CEO likes to be very educated on every step of the process for each service.
By not having an injector, we're able to be more objective and straight forward about the amount of filler you have left.
Without mapping, an injector is likely to ask you where you think your filler is, and will broadly inject in the whole area. This flood method will cause the injector to use a lot more product, and they may not even target the correct area. Flooding entire areas multiple times will leave small pockets and nodules behind. Every time you return to an injector who doesn't properly target your filler, you are losing money.
When you face map, you can know exactly where your filler is and the injector will be able to target it more effectively.
Many people feel like their skin feels different after dissolving their filler. You may feel as though your skin is sagging or you have more wrinkles in the weeks following a dissolving appointment. Some injectors will recommend new filler as a solution to this feeling, but we do not recommend it. Your skin needs time to heal and repair itself. Your collagen will rebuild over time, especially with the help of a medical-grade skincare routine.
It's important to monitor progress and to see whether the filler has been properly targeted. It's easy for an injector to claim that your filler is entirely gone. It's also easy for your filler to shift and move over time, especially during the dissolving process.
If you have any other questions about face mapping or dissolving your filler, we encourage you to give us a call.
