Chanjuan Yang has been in your shoes! She wants to help.
I would like to think making others feel beautiful is in my blood. I come from a family who specialize in permanent makeup services. At the time I was old enough to hold a microblading pen, eyebrow enhancement was on trend.
There were so many schools popping up offering microblading classes. My parents were supportive, and sent me to school. In my first 2 day course I immediately fell in love with the idea of brow enhancement services however, after my first two day training course I left with a certificate of competition and a whole bundle of nerves. The thing is one two-day training course isn't enough. We received our certificates of competition and the instructors encouraged us, "now go home practice, practice, practice. Don't give up!" That's exactly what I wanted to do! I didn't feel confident holding a blade to someone's skin. Sure, I could practice at home but if my technique is wrong from the start I am only encouraging myself to butcher my first client with my terrible form and posture.
I decided to spend additional time, and money attending more short 2 or 3 day courses, hoping to learn the secret to being confident mapping out brows and preforming the service. Finally, after spending $10,000 on a branded 7 day course I was fed up and ready to quit. The week course was fruitless, the course itself spending more time trying to push the branded products on you instead of teaching you how to work with a client and build trust and confidence to perform the service. There had to be another way, a less expensive way, to understand microblading and ombre services. I was ready to quit but my Father wasn't having any of it. He took the lead and somehow landed me an internship with a permanent makeup salon in China. I spend (TIME) with the owner of the salon. I still had to pay her for her time and wisdom but finally, I felt like I was learning.
During my time in the permanent makeup salon I worked my way through the owners stages of learning. For a very long time I couldn't even look at the clients, let alone touch them. My only tasks were to set up sanitized trays for services. I learned everything that should be in the room at a given time during service in order to keep contamination low. Then we moved onto drawing for clients. Eyebrow mapping is the most important part to a microblading consultation. Microblading itself might bring people into your spa but its a custom shape that fits their face and lifestyle that will keep them in your chair. It took my a very long time, but I have gotten down to a science. Finally, after practice I was able to perform the service on clients and I felt confident doing it.
When thinking about creating my own training course I think a lot about the time spent with my mentor in her salon. I feel for semi-permanent and permanent makeup artists who only attend one or two training courses before taking clients. There is a certain skill that can only be accessed through experience. I've structured my course so that you can gain the experience with a team of trained professionals behind you, instead of floundering on your own like I had.

Our course requires a six month commitment. Why is the house so long?
The clinic floor is your classroom. We want our students to experience every possible case to prep them before graduation. When dealing with clients of all different skin tones, backgrounds, and lifestyles, skin can also reflect this. Some clients have some hair, no hair or full bows. You will run into skin the bleeds quickly and pushes out color, different undertones that will cause of pigment to pull a color different from the bottle. Some skin under brow hairs can have scars, acne, or dry patches that can absorb color too quickly or reject color all together. When the color doesn't stay do you had more layers or switcher to a darker color? These are just a few situations we encounter when performing micropigmentation. There is no way one can understand and apply what they have learned in theory on top of executing a flawless Ombre service without spending additional time learning every situation and how to over come it. This is why our course is six months. The first two months will be dedicated to theory and the last four months you will be working with real clients on our floor from start to finish.

We want you to leave with the best set of skills for your future clientele.
